AgroGreen Livestock Summit Press Launch Held
The AgroGreen Bursa Fair will host a livestock summit.
The first two days of the AgroGreen Bursa Fair, organized by GL Platform from October 8-11, will be highlighted by the “Future of Cattle, Cattle of the Future” panel, organized in collaboration with the Turkish Cattle Breeders’ Central Association (TDSYMB).
The summit, which will bring together all stakeholders in the sector under one roof, will discuss issues related to global warming and proposed solutions. TDSYMB President Kamil Özcan stated that a transformation is needed in the livestock sector.
Kamil Özcan: “A new road map is needed”
Kamil Özcan stated that climate change, irregular rainfall, rising costs, and threats to animal health are placing significant pressure on producers. He said, “The livestock sector must take a stand against global changes. At the panel titled “The Future of Cattle, the Cattle of the Future” at AgroGreen, we will present not only the problems but also proposed solutions on a scientific basis. Everyone from producers and industrialists to academics and public authorities will meet on this platform.”
Özcan emphasized that the event, which will feature experts from around the world and Turkey, will shed light on the future of cattle farming. “Many topics will be discussed, from digitalization and breeding policies to climate change and export regulations. This is not just a panel; it will be the shared platform on which we will chart the future course of the sector.”
Gül Ceylan: "Unparalleled"
GL Platform General Manager Gül Ceylan stated that the AgroGreen Bursa Fair is not just a fair; it is also a development model. “This fair will be a platform where we can materialize many of the ideas we have been planning for the livestock sector for years. With its structure that prioritizes livestock, we are undertaking a unique event in Turkey,” she said.
International Participation, Scientific Basis
The panel, supported by leading sector institutions such as the Animal Science Federation and the Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons, will host leading institutions and experts from both Turkey and abroad. Federations, leading farmers, academics, and private sector representatives will share scientifically based information. Panel discussions will include global and Turkish trends in cattle farming for climate-resilient cattle farming, the European Green Deal and its impact on exports, low-emission feeding techniques, biogas systems and waste management, protecting pastures as carbon sinks, digitalization and climate-compatible production, restructuring government incentives, protecting genetic diversity and breeds, and alternative solutions to the feed crisis.
Bringing together collective wisdom, science, and producer experience for the livestock sector, the AgroGreen Bursa Fair aims to contribute to building a climate-friendly and sustainable future.
